SwedCham China invites you to join a Double Factory Tour in Nantong with IKEA Industry and IKEA Components on the 4th of November.

The factory tour starts in Nantong at IKEA Industry where participants will learn about IKEA's highly automated furniture production and see the production line on-site. The impressive factory houses 400 workers and has won many awards for its smart manufacturing processes and safety achievements. After factory presentation and tour, we will take a 15 minutes walk over to neighbor factory IKEA Components (distance about 1km).

At IKEA Components, we will enjoy a fika break before starting the second tour. We will be introduced to IKEA's newly opened (2020) high automation and advanced system components factory to see how they produce and deliver more than 80 million hardware kits, used in more than 1000 different IKEA articles every year.

About IKEA Industry:

IKEA Industry Nantong produces IKEA's world-renowned home furnishing products with good quality and affordable prices. The factory has a 140,000 square meters area, and houses 400 workers. The highly automated furniture production demonstration site was established in 2012. The factory has a dedicated sustainability approach and uses photovoltaic solar to power production line and has a 95% waste reuse rate. The factory has been awarded for smart manufacturing and high-quality production.

About IKEA Components:

IKEA Components China has over 300 co-workers in Nantong, Shanghai and Shenzhen. The Production & Distribution factory opened in June 2020 with a plant area of 31,000 square meters. With high automation and advanced system for production and internal logistics such as automatic warehouse, automatic guided vehicle, and pallet closing line, the factory produces 80+ million hardware kits for 1000+ IKEA articles yearly. The factory has solar panels on its roof and recycles rainwater for plant irrigation, supporting China's goal of carbon neutrality by 2060.

Cancellation Policy

If you cannot attend a factory tour for which you have registered, please cancel your registration no later than three business days prior to the event. If you fail to notify us of your cancellation in a timely fashion, you will be charged for the event costs.

Fapiao (VAT Invoice)
