Hej, Let's do FIKA !
When you go to IKEA stores, you probably notice there are always a few highlighted Swedish words shown at the main entrance or coffee corner, like "Hej", "Vรคlkommen" and "Fika".
So What is Fika? The word 'Fika' dates back many centuries to the 1700s, when coffee was introduced to Sweden and is a mixture of the letters for the Swedish word for coffee; kaffi (later kaffe). Fika is often translated as "a coffee break", but the true value behind Fika Culture is much more than that, especially in the workplace.
The beauty of having Fika in the workplace is really to bring you together with your colleagues for a few minutes while enjoying coffee/tea and desserts. It works as an informal way of catching up and boosts team spirits for happier employees and a more productive working environment!
SwedCham China and SWEA (Swedish Women Education Association) are delighted to invite you to join us with this Swedish Fika Charity event in a Friday afternoon of March 24 at Stey Sanlitun.
