Swedes have been celebrating the start of crayfish seasons since the late 1800s, however once upon a time it was only enjoyed by royals. These days everyone eats crayfish, and special crayfish parties are held in the evenings in early August once the crayfish fishing season is under way in Sweden. SwedCham China's Krรคftskiva has become an annual tradition in both Shanghai and Beijing for many years in China.
The 2022 Swedish Crayfish Party Beijing will be held on September 16th in the beautiful courtyard garden of Hou Qin Gong in traditional Chinese royal flavour at Prince Jun Mansion Hotel Beijing๏ผๅไบฌ้ก็ๅบ้ฅญๅบ). Prince Jun's Mansion is one of eight well preserved mansions from Qing Dynasty, with almost 400 years of history, and is now open to the public as a hotel. The hotel is located in the middle of CBD Business District and Yansha Business District, adjacent to the beautiful and quiet Chaoyang Park.
Highlights of the evening will include the Swedish style crayfish, a fine three-course dinner by TRB catering, Swedish Princess Cake by Nordic Bakery, the traditional singing, customary crayfish party accessories, together with the dance music by DJ RicKeen from Union Bar at Opposite House.
