As the sun sets over the Shanghai skyline, we invite you to step into a cherished Swedish ritual. On the evening of August 28th, 2026, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China will host our annual Swedish Crayfish Party (Kräftskiva) at the exclusive 8th-floor terrace of The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai.

With only around 100 seats available, this is your chance to gather colleagues, friends, and fellow Swedophiles for a night of fantastic food, flowing Swedish snaps, and great views. Whether you are a Swede longing for a taste of home or a local professional eager to explore Nordic culture, this is the place to be. And forget the boardroom—this is where we build relationships over paper hats and playful drinking songs (all decorations are carefully selected, purchased and manually carried by our colleague at the chamber, from Sweden to China, to maximize the vibes). The tradition of the Kräftskiva goes back centuries, but the spirit is timeless: celebrating community, good food, and the last days of summer.

About the Swedish Crayfish Party traditions:

The Kräftskiva isn't just a dinner; it's a 100-year-old cultural institution. From the 16th-century royal courts to the modern "hedonistic" parties lasting well into the night, this feast celebrates the lifting of the historical fishing ban. Since the 1960s, it has become the highlight of the Swedish summer calendar. While tradition dictates it starts in August, we are bringing the party to Shanghai with the same joy and hospitality.

Should the weather not cooperate, don't worry – we will simply move the festivities indoors to a beautiful venue within the same hotel. The crayfish, the snaps, and the songs will flow just as joyfully!

Not a must, but we encourage guests to wear red or orange to match our bright, festive crayfish (and the stunning sunset views over the city)

Cancellation Policy:

If you cannot attend a traditional event for which you have registered, please cancel your registration no later than seven (7) days prior to the event. If you fail to notify us of your cancellation in a timely fashion, you will be charged for the event costs.

Fapiao (VAT Invoice)

Ask your IT to whitelist the domain "XX@hlzrkj.xyz​". Apply fapiao when purchasing a ticket, by inputting the Chinese entity name and tax ID (if the title is wrong, you will be unable to receive the Fapaio). E-Fapiao will be sent to your e-mail within 7 days after completed event (check spam folder). If the fapiao can not be received, please provide an alternative email.
