Join us for a seminar on Plastic and Waste Management in Beijing on April 11!
About 2 billion tonnes of municipal solid waste is generated globally every year. This is expected to increase to 3.4 billion tonnes in 2050, according to the World Bank. At least a third of this waste is not managed in an environmentally friendly way.
At this seminar, organised by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing, we will discuss sustainable and innovative ways of managing solid waste.
We will hear from Swedish companies Polestar, Tomra, among others, sharing their approaches to waste management in their operations in China.
We will also listen to the solid waste expert Mr. Zhen Li, Chairman of Zhonghuan Innovative Technology Development in Beijing, as well as Professor Weng YunXuan who will talk about development and application of bio-degradable plastics in China.
We look forward to a seminar of interactive discussions and the sharing of expertise to together accelerate the development of sustainable and circular solutions to waste management.
The seminar will have simultaneous interpretation in English and Chinese.
The event will be co-hosted by SwedCham China and the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing.
This is a Members-only event, free for Members.
