The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China is excited to welcome you to our next community-driven inspirational talk for 2025. This initiative designed by and for young professionals highlights fascinating personal journeys, life experiences, and innovative approaches to modern challenges.

In this session, we'll explore how urban living is evolving to meet the needs of young professionals, with a special look at how Stey is addressing these trends. Our speaker Sampsa Karhunen, Head of Product Experience at Stey will share insights on flexibility in housing, the balance between community and privacy, and how technology and sustainability (ESG) are transforming how we live. We'll hear personal stories about how Stey fosters connection, combats loneliness, and offers a home-away-from-home for people on the move.

Background:

As cities grow and more young professionals move frequently for work or seek short-term stays, traditional urban housing often struggles to keep up. Stey reimagines city living through:

  • Flexibility: Fully equipped apartments and flexible rental models designed for modern mobility.
  • Community & Privacy: The perfect balance between personal space and vibrant shared areas, allowing each resident to choose how social or private they want to be.
  • Tech & ESG: Leveraging an intuitive app for space management, eco-tracking, and community engagement, while also integrating sustainable design and gamified incentives for eco-friendly behavior.

In this talk, you'll also get a short history of Stey's development from the initial concept to the design principles that focus on young professionals' needs.
