Low-carbon economy and reducing carbon footprint are becoming a common goal of the world. The Swedish Government set out an ambition that the country will become a net zero greenhouse emitter by 2045 at the latest. Many Swedish companies define their strategies and set clear goals on climate change mitigation.
In September 2020, China announced the ambitious goals of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 and peaking emissions by 2030. This can have a significant impact on businesses and their supply chains. For many Swedish companies, China is one of the most important markets for sourcing, producing and sales. This promising announcement indicates both opportunities and challenges for their sustainability work and supply chain management.
To discuss this further, we sincerely invite you to the Team Sweden Breakfast meeting: China's Carbon Neutrality Goal & Opportunities for International Businesses and join us in a discussion about corporate strategies and practices on this pathway to carbon neutrality.
What does China's carbon neutrality goal mean to international companies and their supply chains? What will be the opportunities for the low-carbon transition of business? How do companies work on CO2 reduction in their operation in China?
This seminar aims to share knowledge, experiences and insights on these questions among experts, Swedish companies and other international companies. The purpose is to track policy trends and corporate practices in order to learn what can be done by businesses as the next step.
The event will be co-hosted by the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing, SwedCham and Business Sweden in Beijing at Capital Club, Beijing, where breakfast will be served. This is a Hybrid event. Participants out of Beijing could also attend it online.
