Sweden has more multinational companies per head of population than any other country in the world. Swedish managers are said to have so distinctive communication style and business etiquette which even other Nordic people would find strange.

The purpose of this online training is to help the participants to have a better understanding of the essentials of Swedish communication style and business etiquette in general and in Swedish-Chinese interactions in particular.
The SwedCham is delighted to invite Tony Fang, Professor of Business Administration at Stockholm University to talk about this important topic and provide us with practical advice through this online training.

https://www.su.se/english/profiles/tfang-1.182310Tony Fang, PhD, is Professor of Business Administration at Stockholm Business School (SBS) of Stockholm University, Head, Emerging Markets Cross Cultural Research Group, Founder, Emerging Markets Inspiration Conference (EMIC) that takes place annually at Stockholm University.
Tony Fang received his PhD and Licentiate of Economics in Industrial Marketing, Industrial Economy, Linköping University, Sweden (1999, 1997) and his MSc and BSc in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China (1987, 1984).
Tony Fang worked earlier at the Institute of International Business (IIB), Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) where he was responsible for the SSE's International Graduate Program (IGP). Tony Fang was a visiting scholar in the Department of Political Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (1998; Host Professor Lucian W. Pye).
At SBS Tony Fang has taught bachelor, master, and doctoral courses within international business, marketing, management and organization, cross-cultural management, research methodology, etc. Currently, Tony Fang teaches three courses: Global Markets (Bachelor level), Organization-I (Bachelor level), and Cross-cultural Management and Leadership in Globalized World (Master level).
Tony Fang teaches executive programs on a range of topics, such as Nordic management style, Swedish culture and innovation, cross-cultural negotiation, innovation and leadership, Chinese business negotiating style, and Nordic-Chinese communication and conflict resolution, research methodology, and so on.
Every year Tony Fang supervises both bachelor students' and master students' thesis work on diverse topics in business administration. Tony Fang has worked as academic supervisor for a number of doctoral students at SBS. Currently, he is the principal supervisor for a doctoral research on Volvo Cars under Chinese ownership. Externally, Tony Fang is co-supervising a doctoral research on business relationship and networks.
Tony Fang’s interested research areas include: re-conceptualizing culture in glocalization, internationalization of the firm, cross-cultural management and innovation, intercultural leadership and communication, inspiration from emerging economies, Swedish society and innovation, Nordic culture and management style, Chinese culture and negotiating style, cross-cultural approach to democracy, and so on. In recent years, Tony Fang's research has started reaching Russia, Brazil, India, and Africa.
