Swedish companies have a long history of expanding internationally. Wherever they go, they learn to adapt to the local circumstances of those countries. Nowhere is this adaptability more evident than in China.
Join us in Shanghai on the evening of 15 December 2026 for a special event featuring Mr. Bengt Johansson, former Consul-General of Sweden in Shanghai, as he presents his new book: Swedish Businesses in China 1972–2026.
About the Book and the Speaker:
This book chronicles the remarkable journey of Swedish enterprise in the Chinese market over five decades. Mr. Johansson is uniquely qualified to tell this story. He began working with China trade in 1974 and has served as the Swedish Consul-General in Shanghai twice. His diplomatic career has also taken him to Beijing, Hong Kong, and Taipei, giving him a panoramic view of the region's economic transformation.
