What is the crayfish party in Sweden?

A crayfish party is a traditional summertime eating and drinking celebration in the Nordic countries. The tradition originated in Sweden, where a crayfish party is called a kräftskiva. The tradition has also spread to Finland via its Swedish-speaking population and Norway. Customary party accessories are novelty paper hats, paper tablecloths, paper lanterns, and bibs.

What do I need to do for a crayfish party?

The crayfish party is also called "knytkalas" in Swedish, meaning that everyone has to bring something to the table. But you can skip this part because SwedCham will prepare EVERYTHING for you, from the bibs and hats to the succulent crayfish cooked according to Swedish recipe!

What to expect?
