SwedCham Culture is a new feature of SwedCham China that aims to foster Sino-Swedish culture exchange. Meanwhile, SwedCham China regularly provides Swedish language courses both online and offline, through which Swedish culture and customs can be known in an interesting learning environment.

Cultural Background

Mahjong (Má jiàng, English: Mahjong, Mah-jong or Mah-jongg), a game of four-player dominoes, is popular in the Chinese culture. It originated in China, and is commonly known as mah-jong in Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, and southern Fujian and Fuzhou regions. The rules of the game vary slightly from region to region. In April 2017, the International Federation of Intellectual Sports announced that Mahjong has officially become a world intellectual sport.
